Carolina Bronze was started in the fall of 2000 by a group of directors and advanced ringers who were seeking a challenging ringing experience. The group has grown both musically and in talent. We have some of the most dedicated and best handbell ringers from the upstate.
The purpose of Carolina Bronze is to further the musical art of handbell ringing in the upstate of South Carolina, to encourage worthy new compositions utilizing handbells, to educate the public about the musical art of handbell ringing, and to promote the use of handbells in music education.
Carolina Bronze, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization and your donations are tax deductible. Donations can be given online, at our concerts, or by calling 864.238.4639. A check can also be mailed to: Carolina Bronze, 18 Bidwell Street, Taylors, SC 29687.
Carolina Bronze performs on five octaves of Malmark handbells and seven octaves of Malmark choirchimes. The handbells are cast bronze; the choirchimes are made from aluminum. We love adding other instruments and percussion in our programs.
Our ringers come from many upstate communities. Most are versatile musicians and active in other church, community, and professional groups.
We are always looking for ringers who would enjoy the challenge of ringing with an advanced group. Contact the director by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org for audition information.
